Week 11 - Blood suckers

Any guess on what this photo is?
After a long time, we went to play football at the BTM ground. When it was dark, some creatures, in a huge number, started dancing above my head. I manually set the focal point to 50 cms, turned the flash on and clicked.

They are mosquitos.

Week 9 - Sivarathri crowd

I went home this weekend to celebrate Sivarathri with my family. This photos shows my cousin Mathai, some towel vendors and the busy crowd on the road to Aluva manappuram.

Week 5 - Boating

I went home this weekend. My cousins and me went for a boating at Periyar. This photo shows my cousins rowing the boat.

Week 4 (Malgudi lights)

Our classmate Ramesh is getting married on Feb 3rd. This is the first arranged marriage of a guy of our class. He gave his bachelor's party at the Malgudi restaurant. This photo was taken inside the restaurant.

Week 3 - Udit

This week's photo has a celebrity touch.

Cisco had a party on Jan 'Friday the 13th'. With the guest pass of the Cisco employees of 1318, Rajneesh and Midhun, other inmates of 1318 attended the party. There was a music program by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan.

Week 2 - Collection

I spent most of the time at my Bangalore 1318 home on the second weekend of 2006.

The second photo is of 25 paise coins. This was taken at my studio (Well, in my room). Currently my studio has only one artificial light source- a table lamp.

The light source was kept at a low level to get this effect. The image was sepia toned in photoshop.

Week 1 - Backlit Hibiscus

This year I have decided to take more photos and improve my photography skills. In www.dpchallenge.com, I heard about people who have completed 'a photo a day' for a whole year. This inspired me to try that, but taking a photo everyday seemed difficult. So I decided to try 'a photo a week' for 2006. This was more practical since I would get time on weekends to take the camera out.

So let me post my first photo of 2006, taken at my home.


The early evening sun has lit up the flower nicely and the background has also come up well.
